Re: Sandstorm
Just want to say to the regulars and the pubbies, and especially Ghostie - thanks for last night (30th June). Just one of the best FPS games I've had in a long, long time.
In summary, two attempts and the team didn't even take Alpha. People were mentioning the fact there were too many bots so I said "No, we just need to up our game". Ghostie backed me up and then we started giving them tips. Proper FIBUA tips. And they listened. We split in to squads and regular AlexGray took one platoon, I took the other and we did proper cover and move. Ghostie was Commander and we worked as a unit.
They moved when we said, where we said. They did as requested/instructed. And it worked. And they saw it working. It was AWESOME.
We got as a far as point G before it went tits up
A C4 charge didn't fully kill the technical and a few including Ghostie got taken out by it. After that it became a very quick deterioration down to Destination Fucked.
And we lost. But you know what? I don't think anyone cared, because it just worked.
kentone Did you turn the bots up? They were Brutal
Whatever you did, worked. Thanks

Re: Sandstorm
that's what i play for. when it works. it's awesome. i was smiling reading your post mate. it's why i love the game. i wouldn't want to do it all the time every time as it would become mundane, so when it comes it's so rewarding. i'm genuinely stoked for you.

Yes totally agree mate once they had been calmed down from rushing in and took orders they were exceptional, I must admit Alex Gray did really well with his squad a really enjoyable game even though we lost and I got some commander time in too

Re: Sandstorm
Well, bots become reactive to noise, people running, people showing up, and they have a basic communication between them. So if only one guy starts to rush forward or make noise they run towards the stimulous. That makes a hell for the rest. In other hand, if you move slow and take them down one by one, staying back, they will be on their patrolling paths until you enter their zone. Suppresors makes also a great difference since the range where they can hear you is reduced too
Another advice, use your hearing, those fuckers are noisy when they move!
Those sessions where the people gets together makes you feel like special forces isn't?

Re: Sandstorm
The server is behaving great now, no issues like stuttering and rubber banding the whole evening anymore but Maybe on Ministry which might be a map problem (actually i haven´t played it since the latest patch)
Today it was filled with lots of Players for more than 14 hrs without a restart!!!!!, even when foldbak joined with a ping at round about 200 with and thats is bringing me to the Idea to have another try with the 12 slot version and see how that works.
I have some screenshots with 10 EBS members on Sandstorm, but i really like to have one with 12 at one point lads`n gents
So kentone is it technical possible?

Re: Sandstorm
I found that 12 slots was difficult to coordinate when I tried. It's a large group and when everyone starts talking it seems like the 2 extra people are 5! But that's just me.
We certainly have the numbers to populate the server with 12 slots. It would help more people to get a game and save us from kicking some of the more preferred regulars. I don't object to us trying it again.
Anyone else have any thoughts on the matter, or should we just give it a go and see how it plays out?

Re: Sandstorm
I can raise to 12, technically, we have to try how it works because lot of changes has been done to the game
Re: Sandstorm
Personally I think 10 is a good number. I don’t think we get enough regular EBS members joining every night to warrant an extension to the server numbers. Most, including myself are only on for a couple of hours in the evening anyway so there’s usually a space or two.

Re: Sandstorm
Hello everyone,
I would like to commend you all for the great turn out last week.
Though I'm not playing much, whenever I looked in discord or on the admin tool. I saw a server filled to the brim with EBS members. Having a blast, working together to get the best result out of every map.
This is what we're all about in my opinion.
Keep up the good work and I'll see you around soon.
Honor out.
