Not my best pit exit, but not my worst either

I'm wondering what it would cost me to gear up a dedicated race server, given the amount of spare parts I have on a shelf in my office.

What are the specs for a comfortable game experience ? and what specs are important ?

Intel quotes "These specs should be a decent baseline for most 32-player multiplayer games, but you may need even more power for games with 64 or more players. Keep in mind: The more players on your server, the greater the strain on your hardware.

64-bit Windows* OS (or Linux*, with compatible games)
Solid State Drive (SSD) it's best not to run a server on a mechanical hard drive – the constant read-write actions and slower speeds could cause problems
At least 8GB RAM, with 16 or more being optimal
Quad-core Intel® CPU, minimum 2.5GHZ clock speed"

However Assetto Corso server is like 5-6 players?

Assetto Corsa Recommended Requirements
CPU: AMD Six-Core CPU, Intel Quad-Core CPU.
CPU SPEED: AMD Six-Core CPU, Intel Quad-Core CPU.
RAM: 6 GB.
OS: Windows Vista Sp2 - 7 Sp1 - 8 - 8.1 - 10.
VIDEO CARD: DirectX 11 (AMD Radeon 290x, Nvidia GeForce GTX 970)
SOUND CARD: Integrated.
FREE DISK SPACE: 1 GB.

So it won't require much to be honest, @Cold Blood Nor is running it on an old laptop and I have never seen any performance issues.

Races are usuallay 20-25 pilots usually ..... depends how popular you server is. And the requirement seem to increase exponentially with the number of users, both for the server and the bandwith

I already happened to be 35 pilots on one track for a race on rFactor. But it was for a test and it was abvious that it was a limit for the server. Although once passed the 1st lap, it was acceptable

@Hairy Frog I think for AC, the limitation is definetly the upload speed of your network. The specs on our current server is:
CPU: Intel Celeron CPU G1610T @2.3GHz
RAM: 8bg
GPU: Haha, what even is this :P JK, Intel HD Graphics

As @knightmorphed mentioned, there hasn't been any performance issues as I have seen.
For setting up a race, I 100% agree that it is time that we set one up. We just need to agree on a time where it suits us and the car style and track. As far as I have seen in the settings, there is no AI options in the race.

I suggest Go-kart 125 shifter at Magione

Even better if possible to add bots

And please do not answer unless you have already tried this combo in stand alone race mode

I would suggest a weekly time where all EBS Assetto Corsa players meet up.

It could be Wednesday from 19.00-21.00 - 2 hours of racing and having fun together. Lets all agree a time weekly time where we get together.

Faithless monk, Hairy Frog, Lythnic, Kentone, EyZpick, Heliman96, ColdBlood etc

Be there or be square.

I like that Idea a lot!

On Thursdays there will be a new track with cars in the same classes. You can then practice whenever you want until Wednesday. On Wednsday we can have 30 min practice, 10 min quali, and a race. Does this sound like a format that we could consider?

Once a month we could also have a funny race as well (like the lawnmover, the three wheeled thingy, Ford f150 with stairs, buses, etc.). We can call it the "Monthly Meme Race"
