For the uber Star Wars fans

Postby DeathCaller on Fri Jun 25, 2010 2:36 pm

So, a friend of mine, who's quite a Star Wars fan (if nothing else, he should be classified as "uber" as well), had a discussion with me about the different types of light sabres in the Star Wars series. He mentioned that Droids couldn't use light sabres properly because they didn't have the Force within them; then he continued to mentioned that Anakin had a metal arm, but could still use the force through it.
So, the big question is: How much of a droid can you be before you can't use the Force anymore? As in, starting off human, but losing body parts over time and getting robotic parts to replace them.

I think you mean General Grevous (not sure on spelling) and anyone can "use" a lightsaber, droid or humanoid alike BUT a droid won't be able to use the force as it has no soul.

Technically, he still has a 'stump' for a real arm, so maybe it comes out of there. as long as you have those microscopic things (can't remember the name) you can use the force ^^
You think you have lag, Jesus took 3 days to respawn!

I feel that as long as you have a blood circulatory system that uses real blood and not a substitute then you are able to use the force, that said I can't remember if everyone has midi-chlorians or if it is select people, however they live in your blood so if you've still got blood, you've still got force in my opinion.

ok, You need Midichlorians, which inhabit the body to be able to use the force, the more you have, the more potent your abilities.
As for Lightsabers, the force is not needed to wield them, although it augments your physical ability, stronger, faster and so on.
Anyone can use a lightsaber provided they recieve the right training, only fully fledged jedi and sith lords have access to these techniques.
General "Grievous" is not a force user, but he was trained in lightsaber mastery by Count Dooku, who in turn was trained by emperor Palpatine, who in turn was trained by Yoda.

Grievous Below, wielding lightsabers taken from Jedi knights he has murdered.
