Well after the headset i got that didnt work i decided to look into other headsets. I started to read alot about 5.1 headsets. In the end i found out that they have their own soundcard installed and dont use your own. meh, after i had just spent abit of money on a decent sound card. I also read that the sound is good but not as good as using your own sound card and a goodset of headphones. Well ive been after a good set of headphones for some time as i listen to alot of music and watch films on apple devices :leaving: So it made sence in not buying a dedicated headset.

Well this is what ive ordered that should turn up this week.

sennheiser's HD280

logitech digital desktop mic

Both have got fantastic reviews.

This is what i have been using for some time:-

The free mic you get with a dell.

I've had various Sennheisers for my MP3 player and I'm using a Sennheiser headset now (and for last 2-3 years, tried another £50 one and it died in about 3 months) and can't fault them at all. I've been skint when I've needed to replace the mp3 player headphones and bought Skull Candy or Sony instead as I found them going cheap, but always think I should have got the Sennheisers.

My mate has had that mic (or one that looks the same) for a while and it's spot on

ive got one of those USB logitech mic's in my cupboard upstairs they are ok. Its the having 2 items (1 on desk) when you can have it all in 1. I have a soundcard also and a 5.1 amp and speaker set up for when i want to play and crank the sound up when the wifes out but i think unless you are an audiophile you would never tell the difference in the headsets. That headset looks good for music which you wanted but is it only stereo? if thats the case you are missing out on the 5.1 gaming and 5.1 movie playback :blah: . Im sure you have made the right decision for your requirements, please post your verdict when you have set them up!
