I finally won on my laziness and reinstalled my head tracking device and software.

Everything did not go easy as I discovered that my good old FreeTrack was not compatible with AC. So I had to look for another free soft that would fit.

And I found it, it's called Opentrack.

So what does headtracking in sims ? well .... it helps a lot ! And to sum up, it is a ridiculously cheap alternative to VR or Ultrawide ( and ultra expensive ) multi-screens.

In airsims, it is obvious, as you can move the pilot head just like in real life, and not loosing sight on the plane you are fighting is just vital. in sim racing, it is less obvious, but also a game changer : you can look naturally to the apex of the corner, and the tighter thecorner, the more benefit. the change is so natural that It is only after a few laps that you realise that you are using it and benefiting of it : your trajectories are more accurate, your driving is more consistent.

These videos will show it more than words :

This link leads to a page that contains the download links and a load of usefull tips for the set up of OpenTrack

These two vids may help too :

@Hairy Frog I might be blind, but where can you get the hardware for it?

There's also the Freetrack's site that is full of handy informations and tutorials..... Opentrack can use the Freetrack protocol and dll

The other night we were really put in our place by @FaithlessMonk the Ayton Senna of Sim Racing within EBS. He took the most difficult car in the game and smoked us around one of the hardest tracks in the world and didnt even get a chance to catch up to him.....a very good drive indeed. Full respect, I am bowing down in honour of his driving skill......well done mate!

You are right professionals make it look easy. Yet this race by Senna looks insanely difficult....

Senna + MP4/4 + transe = LEGEND

Well .... just try to make a good clean good lap on Blackwood with this car, using the classic three pedals + H shifter ..... you won't be long to feel the transe too, you can trust me

I tried, there's a chicken hanging on the mirror of my kangoo since

Great fun tonight guys! It was so fun with the racing that we did. I also like the tradition that it seems we have where we just cruise after hours of racing. Looking forward to more fun!
