1. Right click on the Desktop/New/Shortcut.
2. Paste this:

Code: Select all

cmd.exe /c echo 178.32.157.60:27102| clip
3. Press next
4. Put a name, per example Copy EBS Sandstorm IP
5. Press finish
6. Now you can right click on that shorcut and pin it to the task bar
7. If you press it, it will save the sandstorm IP on the clipboard

(To a degree) Don't be afraid of range. There are spots on several maps that can quite effectively cover multiple points, so you can hang back with a sniper or gunner and hammer enemies before they get close. Just remember to be close ENOUGH to the point to be able to get there if you need to. Some good points are the second building east of G on Hideout Sec and the penultimate point on Precinct, both Sec and Ins. All three spots offer great lines of sight that can significantly take the pressure off those on point.

Suppressors SEEM to greatly reduce the amount of threat you build up with the bots. Unless you're @Smoke buds, then a suppressor on a high threat weapon like an LMG will often let you stay in your nest for a while longer before the hoard decides you're worth coming after en masse. If you are @Smoke buds, then nothing can help you.

The PKM is a full auto OHK sniper rifle when paired with a 4x with a nice ROF, and with the bots using them too you're unlikely to run out of ammo unless you're entrenched for a fair while. Unfortunately, I've just called dibs so you'll have to pick mine up from my cold, dead hands.

1.5x scope is a really nice middle ground for rifles; enough magnification to give you an edge but still usable up close and personal.

Just run around the maps, look at the buildings, see where you might be able to park yourself to get a nice flank on the enemy. It's always good to find a new murderhole.

Another one i forgot, there doesn't seem to be any penalty for using a picked up weapon from another class. That means that if you're an observer and prefer to use lmgs or shotguns etc, a friendly person who is playing the appropriate class can drop their weapon by picking up any random bot's gun then resupplying themselves once you have the tasty gun. Generally the two lmgs we have are enough, but could be useful for last point defences.

At the main home screen when you first load up, click profile (centre screen) appearance, voice. Then select the appropriate voice to represent each of the security and insurgents. This stops your friends hearing the wrong voice for the team you are on and helps avoid teamkills. Everyone should know this and do this for coop.

In the settings menu, under Game (which should be the first menu that appears anyway), in the HUD section there's an option to always show the compass.

Be aware that (for some maps, still, but others have been corrected) the minimap has north pointing to the right side of the screen

Using the number keys to switch weapons has an annoying delay before you can switch to a different one, the mouse wheel however, does not suffer from this delay.

As with Insurgency 2014, when you start aiming down the sights your bullets are already going to hit the center of the screen.

Taking off armour and ammo vests greatly increases movement speed AND ADS (aim down sight) speed.

If you reload and then sprint after the magazine has been pulled out, don't forget to reload again.

Double tapping R performs a speed reload which is rather self explanatory, but you lose the magazine in the process, therefore it is best to do it when the mag is almost or completely empty.

If you do use quick reload and throw away your empty it enables you to pick up ammo from guns using the same.

Live frag grenades can be thrown back by going up to them and pressing F.

If you've decided that you don't want to throw the grenade that you just pulled the pin off, roll the mouse wheel while still holding down the mouse button until you actually pull out a different weapon.

Corpses and gibs can apparently protect you from explosions.

C4 (but not IEDs unfortunately) can be stuck onto objects by looking at where you want to stick it to, then holding right click.

The RPG-7's point of impact seems to not be at the tip of the front sight post, but rather just below it

Shotguns can pump much faster if mashing the fire button.

Against bots, flash hiders actually do have some effect - bots seem to be much less inclined to shoot back at you at long distances if you're shooting at them with a flash hider attached.

Bipods and foregrip bipods can be toggled by pressing the default key of G.

Laser sights can be toggled with the default key of H.

Instead of holding F at a supply crate to do a full resupply, you can open and close the loadout menu to instantly do a full resupply.

If the initial supply truck in co-op has disappeared or blown up, look for the icon denoting your spawn area and move towards it - if you can see how many supply points you have (indicated by a number and crate icon in the lower right corner of your screen) you're in the zone. Open up your loadout menu and tap F to restock.

Fully resupplying also restores your health, so if you've been hit make sure you heal yourself.

If you have to pick up a gun in the field, any similar guns can have their magazines scavenged for extra ammo.

Smoke cockblocks commander fire support - if you try to call fire support at a location and there's smoke in between the marker will be blocked by the smoke.

Observers capture points twice as fast as the other classes. In co-op, a game is better off with having observer slots filled before rifleman slots since observers are literally riflemen, weapons and all, but with a radio.

Observers don't need direct line of sight with the Commander to request fire support, they just need to be close enough to the commander to do so, as indicated by the meter at the bottom left corner of the screen.

Being suppressed interrupts fire support, so as an Observer make sure you're not getting shot at, at least until the order goes through and is confirmed by HQ.

It appears that if a fire support request gets interrupted due to the Observer getting hit or being suppressed and the commander then dies, the order will never go through.

Once you hear the commander start ordering whatever fire support needed, or see a message in the chatbox from the player who is commander that says something like Order Fire Support the Observer can then immediately run off to safety and hide until the order is confirmed by HQ.

Calling fire support through a building to the other side (i.e. through a window on your side and going out a window on the other side of the building) seems to be bugged.

Explosive artillery can penetrate the roof of buildings.

Smoke artillery (and smoke grenades) block fire support line of sight.

Autocannon strafes will fire 30mm explosive shells in a line perpendicular to the commander's point of aim, randomly coming in from the left or right (Though Spawnsy thinks a pattern suggests that it will come from the direction of the map which has the most space and "run up" to target).

With changes to the duration of helicopters, it's possible to get two helicopters covering your team by ordering minigun support, then gunship support as soon as it's available.

The gunship will introduce itself with a salvo of rockets whose explosions can penetrate ceilings and walls.

As a security commander, the rockets will impact the spot where you ordered the gunship at the green smoke marker, so keep that in mind before you decide to call a gunship on top of your team.

The gunship has no concept of danger close - if it sees an enemy near you, it will blow you up together with him.

The IED drone can be called in to fly through windows and doors.

IED drones' explosions will penetrate walls.

Rocket artillery arrives a bit quicker than explosive mortars, as well as also dealing a lot more damage over a wider area.

Use the intimidation voice command and nearby bots will respond, allowing you to hear where they are. It's worth noting however that if there's only one bot alive, it will remain completely silent so keep alert.

When defending, plant C4/IED/mine (at a push) in the centre of the room you're in, in line of sight from the entrance: bots love to disarm explosives so this can give you an advantage.

For whatever reason, bots are omniscient as long as you have an unsuppressed gun, even if you have never fired a shot.

If bots see you move back into cover, they will bombard your position with laser guided frags and/or molotovs.

If you've run out of ammo and a suicide bomber is charging at you and there's no cover to protect you from the blast, as a last resort, melee the bot in the face for an instant kill.

If there's an enemy toyota gunner and you're on a DShk yourself, don't panic, just use single shots and aim for the face.

Kicking in a door will kill anyone immediately on the other side of the door and around it.

Open doors can be kicked shut - stand beside the hinges, look towards the doorframe, then hit the melee key. This will kick the door shut and kill anyone unfortunate enough to be standing in the swing arc of the door, as well as the doorframe itself.

Hold the crouch key while in any seat of a vehicle to dip your head, reducing the chances that you get sniped out. Doing this on the gunner seat in a rhythmic fashion has a nice teabagging action to it for any witnesses.

Some tips to do with Technicals!

When stationary, try to keep the front end of the truck in cover. It will be a smaller target for rockets and basically impervious to bullets, as they only seem to damage the truck if they hit the engine.

Similar to the explosive drone, trucks attract a lot of enemy fire. If possible your teammates should try to shoot at the enemies while they are distracted. This also helps prevent the gunner being overwhelmed.

Trucks are good for slow rolling advances. Since the gunner's field of view is restricted by the shield, the driver should call out any targets they see. The driver surprisingly well protected by the windscreen so don't worry if you are getting shot at for a few seconds more than you are used to... But at the same time, if it gets too hot don't be afraid to retreat.

Bots are laughably sneaky when it comes to Technicals. They will run halfway around the map just to steal one you abandoned 3 points ago and come shoot you with it. That's why if you decide to stop using one you should destroy it. Instead of using ordinance you can usually take one out with 1-2 magazines to the engine. Works best if you shoot straight on at the front grill.

The gun has unlimited ammo. However if you shoot the gun for too long at once it will overheat, so try to fire in bursts of max 10-15 shots to let it cool down.

You can duck using the crouch key when in any seat including the gun. Inside, this will make you a little harder to hit. When on the gun this hides you behind the shield completely, but you can't shoot. But if you are being overwhelmed by incoming fire you can use this to bob up and down between bursts or when turning to face new targets, reducing your exposure.

Grenades and fire will damage vehicle occupants more than the truck itself, often killing them without destroying the truck.

You can resupply while inside the truck if it is driven to a spawn zone using the M menu trick.

When climbing onto the gun, it is the most consistent if you approach the tailgate directly from the rear even if the gun is pointing in a different direction. Don't faff around at the sides or a teammate (or worse, enemy) will hop on instead.

The Marksman's anti-materiel rifles can penetrate the gunner's shield, but from my experience the truck's own .50cal gun can't. With any other gun, keep shooting at the gap in the shield. If the gunner is facing you he will be exposed. If he is blocked by the side of the shield you can usually shoot at his feet instead.

The gunner can aim low enough to shoot their own driver/passenger if needed. Enemy bots will jump on your gun and do this to you if you are not careful! There is even a Steam achievement for doing so.

Like normal bots, the gunner will track and shoot you through walls. Except their gun is big enough to still hit you! Basically, don't peek him because he will win, even if you duck back into cover after realising your mistake. Wait for the gunner to be distracted by a different target before engaging.

C4 and IEDs don't have to be particularly close to destroy a truck. It doesn't need to be directly underneath. I think the distance is around the same as the kill radius against infantry. I have heard rumours that bots will avoid placed vehicle mines, but I have never seen one attempt to dodge a C4/IED.

During some counter-attacks you are able to see where the enemy Technical spawns. If using a rocket, try to destroy it immediately. Even if the bots have spawn protection the truck doesn't, and if you are even a few seconds late a gunner will jump on and instantly start shooting at you, the only chump exposed to him!

Do not jump on top of an occupied Technical as this can glitch out and cause the truck to bounce/flip. This often gets the truck stuck and can kill the gunner (and you) by crushing them or dropping them through the map. However you can also use this trick to unstick a truck as long as it remains occupied.

A player on the back seats of the Technical can shoot their primary weapon out of the opposite window from where they are sitting, as long as there isn't a player in the way.

The windows can take a lot of punishment before breaking completely, but they are not perfectly bulletproof. You can actually shoot out bot drivers through the windscreen without breaking it.

Don't move an occupied truck without asking the gunner first, they may be positioned for a counter-attack.

Air support will target exposed trucks and gunners! While it sounds like fun to try shoot down the helis with the truck's gun, they usually fly too high for you to be able to aim at them. You should either drive to cover or abandon it to survive.

Unfortunately, destroying a friendly truck seems to circumvent the reflective team damage. The shooter will still be killed but the truck will be destroyed killing the occupants.
